Norway's Arctic Strategy

Between geopolitics and social development

In 2017 Norway set out its vision for a peaceful, innovative and sustainable north and the policies for achieving it, in Norway's Artic Strategy - between geopolitics and social development. Following a presentation of this strategy, the Northern Sparsely Populated Area co-operation will present its priorities for EU investments in the Arctic post 2020. The NSPA network represents the northernmost countries of Sweden, Finland and Norway. The event will be rounded off with a Q&A session.

International Conference on Harmonized Implementation of the Polar Code

The Arctic Council PAME Working Group has established the Arctic Shipping Best Practices Information Forum to support effective implementation of the Polar Code. Finland supports the work of the Forum and will host an "International Conference on Harmonized Implementation of the Polar Code - Experiences after one year's Enforcement" on 22 February 2018 in Helsinki, Finland.
